Legislative Decree No. 52 implementing Directive 2003/122/Euratom on the control of high-activity sealed radioactive sources and orphan sources.

This Legislative Decree lays down control measures applicable to high-activity sealed radioactive sources and orphan sources. All operations and practices involving such sources shall be subjected to prior issue of an authorization. Further provisions concern the transfer within the European Community as well as the importation and exportation of sources. A national register on sources and keepers is set up (art. 9).
