Abstract
In accordance with Legislative Decree No. 194 of 17 March 1995, active substances used as phytosanitary products are subject to the previous issuance of an authorization by the Ministry of Health. As referred to in this Circular, phytosanitary products containing pheromones are subject to the issuance of the authorization, only in case they are used for pest-fighting purposes. On the other hand, the authorization is not compulsory for pheromones used for monitoring purposes and for the massive capture of harmful organisms. As a result, enterprises using phytosanitary products for which the registration is compulsory must request the authorization to the Ministry of Health-Department of Food, Nutrition and Public Veterinary Health. The application must be accompanied by a report concerning the active substances concerned, in compliance with the specimens provided by Annexes A and B to the Circular.
