Ministerial Decree of 5 August 2022, interpreting the Ministerial Decree of 2 March 2018 on incentives for the production of biomethane.

This Interministerial Decree clarifies some aspects related to the application of the Ministerial Decree of 2 March 2018, currently in force, intended to incentivize the use of biomethane in the transport system through a mandatory mechanism for those who use fossil fuels.
In particular, the Decree specifies the conditions upon which biomethane production plants have access to the incentives provided for by the above mentioned Ministerial Decree: they have submitted their application within 30 days from the date of entry into force of this decree and have obtained the project qualification to be entitled to receive the incentive; have an authorization, released by the date of entry into force of this decree, for the construction and operation of the production plants of biomethane.
It also specifies that the right to the incentive referred to in paragraph 1 will become void if the e plant biomethane production is not operative by 31 December 2023.
