Abstract
In implementation of the provisions contained in Regulation (EC) No. 686/97 amending Regulation (EEC) No. 2847/93 establishing a control system applicable to the common fisheries policy, the present Decree concerns the duty of masters of fishing vessels exceeding 24 metres overall length to implement the satellite-based vessel monitoring system (VMS). Regulation (EEC) No. 2847/93 applies also to vessels fishing on the high seas.
