Ministerial Decree concerning the national plan for the control of the Aujeszky disease in the swine species.

The Decree aims at the control of the Aujeszky disease throughout the national territory. To this end, it establishes a prevention system and draws up a vaccination programme according to the description made in Annex II. Qualified personnel shall be in charge of the periodical taking of samples (as provided for by Annex V) and of the serological tests to be carried out according to the methods stated in Annex VI. The Decree makes further provisions for the collection of data by the veterinary service of the competent health unit. On the basis of the data collected, the autonomous regions and provinces shall report every year to the Ministry of Health on the sanitary status of the breeding. Final provisions concern the conditions required for the declaration of breeding officially disease free to be issued by the veterinary service of the competent health unit.
