Ministerial Decree establishing additional measures in order to ensure the permanent surveillance of the spongiform encephalopathies of the animals.

The Decree provides for the establishment of a national unit in charge of the following: (a) coordinating the activities of the local units; (b) professional training of the staff; (c) overseeing of the national register of the encephalopathies of the animals; (d) collection and dissemination of data to the appropriate authorities; (e) determination of the necessary measures for the protection of the animals against the disease.
