Abstract
The purpose of this Ministerial Decree is to implement Regulation 1148/2001/EC, with particular respect to: (a) the coordinating authority and inspection bodies; (b) the creation of a database on traders in fruit and vegetables; (c) control activities and procedures; (d) certification of products destined to industrial processing. The Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies is in charge of the coordination of checks at all stages of marketing of conformity to the standards set out by Regulation 1148/2001/EC. The Regions shall be the competent inspection bodies. They shall therefore conduct conformity checks on the internal market as well as at the point of import and export. The Ministry shall elaborate a manual concerning inspection methods. One Annex, classifying traders in fruit and vegetables, is attached.
