Ministerial Decree No. 193945 of 05/04/2023 concerning the establishment of the National Network of Ancient Forests.

The Decree implements Art. 3 (2) (s bis) Legislative Decree 3 April 2018, No. 34 and provides for the establishment of the National Network of Ancient Forests. The Decree also establishes within the National Network of Ancient Forests a special section for the UNESCO defined forests as “Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe". The Decree also clarifies the governance of these protected forests among regions and government agencies.
