Ministerial Decree No. 305 implementing Directive 2001/106/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Council Directive 95/21/EC concerning the enforcement, in respect of shipping using Community ports and sailing in the waters under the jurisdiction of the Member States, of international standards for ship safety, pollution prevention and shipboard living and working conditions (port State control).

Abstract
This Decree has been adopted in order to implement at national level the provisions contained in Directive 2001/106/EC relating to the enforcement of international standards for ship safety and prevention of pollution. Article 2 identifies those ships which shall fall within the application scope. Fishing vessels are not included. Articles 3 to 9 deal with the inspection procedure. Access to national harbours is prohibited in respect of those ships which have not complied with the conditions prescribed during an inspection procedure (art. 11).
