Ministerial Decree No. 563765 of 28 October 2021 establishing the minimum national standards for the preparation territorial forest plans, forest management plans, or equivalent instruments.

The Decree implements Art. 6 (3) and (6) of the Legislative Decree 3 April 2018, No. 34 and establishes the minimum national standards for the preparation territorial forest plans (PFIT) (prepared by the Regions), forest management plans (PGF), or equivalent instruments. Under Art. 3 of the Decree the PFIT aims to provide guidelines for the medium and long-term management of public, private and collective forests defining objectives and purposes in implementation of the regional forest policy. The PFIT has also the coordination function of other instruments such as: Landscape management plans of Legislative Decree 22 January 2004 No. 4; Regional fire management plans under Law 21 November 2000, No. 353; River basin plans Legislative Decree 3 April 2006, No. 152. Art. 4 of the Decree provides details for the PGF, the documents and also scope. Art 5 regulates the other equivalent instruments.
