Abstract
This Presidential Decree sets out the registration and identification system for bovine animals. Such system shall include: (a) ear marking; (b) animal passports; (c) registers to be kept by the enterprises; (d) a computerized database. Holders of bovine animals, holders of slaughterhouses, producers and suppliers of ear marks, the local health authorities, the Regions and the Autonomous Provinces as well as the Ministry of Health are in charge of the functioning of the above-mentioned system. Holders of bovine animals shall in particular keep an up-to-date register, as referred to in article 5, providing all the information listed in article 7, paragraph 2. Holders of slaughterhouses shall submit to the competent local health authority the codes intended for the identification and registration of bovine animals. Five Annexes are attached.
