Abstract
With a view to improving the zootechnical resources of the Autonomous Province of Trento, this Act regulates the reproduction of bred animal species. The Act consists of five Titles. Title I regards bovine reproduction, while Title II regulates the reproduction of animal species other than bovines. Bulls cannot be destined to natural mounting unless they are registered in the genealogical books referred to in article 1 of Act No. 126 of 3 February 1963 (art. 1). The creation and management of breeding farms is subject to the previous issuance of a special authorization by the Provincial Zootechnical Commission, which has been established under article 11 of this Act. Article 4 refers to artificial reproduction centres, to be constituted by cooperatives or consortia, upon authorization previously granted by the Provincial Council. Article 7 allows, under certain conditions, the purchase and conservation of frozen semen. The limit for the quantity to be kept shall be fixed by the Provincial Zootechnical Commission. Title III lays down general provisions, applicable both to bovine reproduction and reproduction of species other than bovines. Such provisions include the documentation to be kept by reproduction centres, as well as inspection and penalties.
