Regional Act No. 25 laying down rules on the elaboration and implementation of the waste management plan.

By way of implementation of Legislative Decree No. 22 of 1997, there are hereby laid down at regional level provisions concerning the drafting as well as the implementation of the waste management plan, giving particular regard to waste prevention and reduction of hazardous waste. Articles 4, 5 and 6 provide for the distribution of the relevant competences amongst the Region, the Provinces and the Communes. Article 8 describes the content of the plan, whereas article 9 regulates the approval procedure. Article 14 provides for the setting up of three Optimal Territorial Areas (ATO).
