Regional Act No. 3 setting up the Regional Entity for Agricultural and Forest Services (ERSAF).

The object of the present Regional Act is the improvement, the modernization and the enhancement of the agricultural, food and agro-forestry sectors. To this end, the Region has hereby established the Regional Entity for Agricultural and Forest Services (ERSAF), which shall support the agricultural and food systems of Lombardia, taking into particular account the issues relating to national and international markets, rural development, environmental sustainability, rural landscape preservation, research and food quality and safety. Article 3 defines the functions and activities to be carried out by the ERSAF, including technical assistance, the promotion of local products (covering organic products too), as well as support to mountain and less-favoured areas. In addition, the ERSAF shall elaborate and update periodically a database containing the information referred to in article 5, paragraph 3.
