Abstract
This Regional Act defines the General Plan for Regional Protected Areas of Natural and Environmental Interest. The protected areas determined by the General Plan shall be subject to the following separate protective regimes: (a) nature parks, to which Act No. 394 of 6 December 1991 shall apply; (b) regional parks; (c) nature reserves; (d) natural monuments; (e) other zones of particular natural and environmental importance to be protected. The above-mentioned protected areas are determined and classified by the Annex attached to this Act. Part II of Title I provides for the establishment of: (a) the Regional Technical Committee (art. 6); (b) the Provincial Commissions and Consortia for the Natural Environment (art. 7); (c) Proposal Committees (art. 8). Title II sets up the regime of regional protected areas, providing for the classification and regulating the establishment procedure of: (a) nature reserves (Part I); b) regional parks (Part II); (c) natural monuments and zones of environmental importance (Part III). Title III concerns controls and lays down penalties.
