Animal Diseases (Importation) Control Regulations, 1948.

These Regulations prescribe rules relative to the importation of animals, fodder litter, biological products intended for use as a veterinary medicine and carcasses in Jamaica and the quarantine of imported animals.
Landing of animals in Jamaica shall be done at specified ports and shall be subject to conditions as laid down by these Regulations and in accordance with a permit issued by an inspector appointed under section 3 of the Animal (Diseases and Importation) Act. The Regulations lay down specific conditions of importation for various classes of animals, i.e.: (a) dogs and cats; (b) horses; (c) cattle, pigs, sheep and goats; (d) rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, turtles and caged birds; and (e) monkeys.
