Abstract
These Regulations introduce measures to control the spreading of anthrax in Jamaica.
They impose a duty on every person having under his or her charge any animal affected with, or suspected to be affected with, anthrax: (a) to notify authorities; and (b) to comply with a Notice declaring an infected place and related directions issued by an inspector appointed under the Animals (Diseases and Importation) Act. Owners or occupiers of any infected place shall isolate animals and disinfect the infected place in accordance with these Regulations. Removal of animals, carcases, dung, litter, fodder, etc. requires a permit of the inspector. No milk of an affected animal shall be used as food and containers containing such milk shall be sterilized. Diseased animals shall be disposed with in accordance with these Regulations.
