Fishing Industry (Conservation of Conch (Genus Strombus)) Regulations, 2000.

The maximum of weight of fifty percent cleaned conch, which may be landed during the period outside of the close season for conch shall not exceed the national Total Allowable Catch, as to be determined by the Minister thirty days before the end of the close season. Licensed fishermen shall not exceed Individual Conch Quotas as determined by the Minister at least 30 days before the end of the close season. Allocation of quotas shall be certified and the quotas are not transferable. Processing shall be declared to the Licensing Authority under regulation 5. Sale, importation or processing of conch during the close season shall be prohibited (reg. 6). Regulations 7, 8 and 9 provide for inspection of storage and commercial establishments by Fisheries Inspectors. No person shall fish, collect, offer for sale immature conch (as defined). No person shall fish in a Fishery Management Area declared under regulation 11 unless authorized by the Minister. Regulation concerns reporting on catch. Regulation 14 prescribes offences. The First Schedule lists Fishery Management Areas. Schedule 2 specifies conversion factors for processing. Schedule 3 contains forms of logbooks and log forms for processing plants.
