Abstract
This Act makes provision with respect to interpretations as used in the legal system of Jamaica. It lays down general principles of interpretation and certain principles regarding the interpretation of legislation. It also provides for the exercise of powers in relation with the (enactment of) legislation and provides for various other matters concerning the legal system of Jamaica. The Act also gives interpretations of, among other things: "land", "property", "to occupy", "vessel" and "ship".
