Abstract
These Regulations introduce measures to control the spreading of rabies in Jamaica. They impose a duty on every person having under his or her charge any animal affected with, or suspected to be affected with, rabies to notify authorities and to isolate animals in accordance with an Isolation Notice issued by an inspector appointed under the Animals (Diseases and Importation) Act.
Inspectors shall perform post-mortem inspection on carcases of animals died in suspected circumstances. Animals of owners who do not comply with an Isolation Notice may be seized and diseased animals shall be disposed of in accordance with these Regulations.
