Abstract
These Regulations introduce measures to control the spreading of swine fever in Jamaica.
They impose a duty on every person having under his or her charge any animal affected with, or suspected to be affected with, swine fever: (a) to notify authorities; and (b) to comply with a Notice declaring an infected place and related directions issued by an inspector appointed under the Animals (Diseases and Importation) Act. Owners or occupiers of any infected place shall isolate swine and destroy swine straying in and out of an infected place and no dung of any swine or any food, fodder, litter or utensils used in connection, shall be removed from an infected place. Diseased animals shall be disposed of with in accordance with these Regulations.
