Abstract
This Act makes provision for the establishment of the Tobacco Industry Authority as a body corporate and defines its functions, powers and rules of internal organization.
The Authority shall, among other things: (a) promote the interests and efficiency of the tobacco industry; (b) secure the most favourable arrangements for the purchase, handling, marketing, sale, importation and exportation of tobacco; and (c) establish and operate tobacco plants and industry works. The Authority shall have regulation-making power.
