Town and Country Planning Act.

This Act makes provision for the appointment of Town and Country Planning Authority, the constitution of the Advisory Planning Committee and the establishment of the Compensation Assessment Board and provides rules relative to the development of land and related matters.
The Act grants the power to the Authority to issue development orders and prescribes conditions and procedures for the preparation, confirmation and modification of such orders and of provisional development orders. Development orders shall provide rules for the development of land in a specified area. Use of land for agriculture or forestry shall not be considered development of land for purposes of this Act. A permission to develop land requires a permission of a local authority and, where the provisions of the Natural Resources Conservation Authority Act shall apply to any development, a permit of the Natural Resources Conservation Authority pursuant to that Act. The Act also provides with respect to the payment of compensation in relation with the refusal to grant development of specified land.
