Abstract
This Directive is composed of 10 articles. Article 1 deal with terms and definitions. This Directive shall be applied to contagious and epidemic diseases (art. 2). Owners of slaughtered or destroyed animals due to contagious diseases have the right in compensations according to the annual tariff of animals (art. 3). Article 4 defines the list of animals which should be compensated (bovines, buffalos, camels, pigs, goats, sheep, horses, donkeys, mules and domestic birds. No compensation shall be paid for animals incompatible with the provisions of Agriculture Law No. 44 of 2002 (arts. 5 and 6). The Minister of Agriculture shall establish a committee formed from a veterinary surgeon, agrarian engineer and representative of the Ministry of Finance with the competence to lay an annual tariff for animals (art. 9). The aforementioned Committee shall fix the compensation before slaughtering or destroying animals (art. 10).
