Directive No. Z/44 of 2003 establishing technical and sanitary requirements for zoos, animal exhibitions, circs and animal sale places.

This Directive is composed of 8 articles and 1 Annex. Articles 1 and 2 deals with terms and definitions. Article 3 decrees the establishment of the Committee for Licensing Zoos, Animal Exhibitions, Circs and Animal Sale Places. Article 4 defines measures and steps for licensing zoos, animal exhibitions, circs and animal sale places. Article 5 lays down requirements and conditions for zoos, animal exhibitions, circs and animal sale places. Article 6 regulates the transportation and transfer of animals. Article 8 contains offences and penalties. Annex 1 deals with requirements for fences and cages.
