Instructions No.1 of 2021 regarding the Fund for the Protection of the Marine Environment and Fisheries in the Gulf of Aqaba.

These Instructions consisting of 9 articles aim at establishing a Committee for the management of the Fund for the Protection of the Marine Environment and Fisheries in the Gulf of Aqaba established by article 69 of the Regulation of 2001 on Environment Protection in the Aqaba Exclusive Economic Zone. The main tasks of the Committee are as follows (i) establish the priorities of the fund's activities concerning the laws and policies on the protection of the marine environment and fish wealth and good use of the fund's resources; (ii) establish criteria and principles for choosing projects to offer financial support and approve grants; (iii) approve the projects; (iv) study the reports of the funded projects; (v) approve the fund's annual financial statements. Article 8 lists the requirements that professional fishermen need to obtain funding, while article 9 lists principles and conditions to be adopted in the projects nominated to benefit from the fund's amounts.
