Abstract
This Law amends some provisions of Water Authority Law of Jordan. It establishes that the funds of the Authority and of any other company belonging to it become public (art.16); the transfer of ownership of land on which there are ground water wells is only possible after the payment to the Authority of all amounts required and for transferring the ownership to a non-Jordanian it is necessary the Cabinet approval (art.21). The Law also strengthens penalties for violation of its provisions in case of, inter alia, establishing buildings or construction of any kind on State owned land, causing damage to any of the Authority projects, or ruining or destroying or polluting any water resources or the Authority's public sewers, drilling unlicensed ground water wells, carrying out works or duties which are considered the sole responsibility of the Authority, illegal usage of water or the public sewers, carrying out any works regarding water sewerage without obtaining the licenses (art.30).
