Abstract
This National Strategy for Health Sector is a 5-years nationwide sectoral document aiming at (i) holistically upgrading the health sector and its adoption of the national goals of the 'national agenda', 'the document of all Jordan' and 'integrated framework for economic and social policies in Jordan 2025' as bare references; (ii) strengthening the partnership between the health sectors; (iii) leading to the adoption of decentralization in decision-making. The Strategy represents the general framework for developing and strengthening the capacity of the health system to face the challenges and raise Jordan's position in the provision of health care. The Vision at the basis of the Strategy is to achieve an effective health system with a humanitarian economic dimension that ensures access to quality lifelong health care for the entire population. This will be achieved through the development of health-integrated policies with the participation of all health sectors operating in the Kingdom. In summary, the goals of the Strategy are (i) to support the policy environment and good governance in the health system; (ii) to provide individual-centered integrated health services and respond to the growing needs; (iii) to provide health, financial and social protection to the entire population on a fair basis; (iv) promote investment in the health sector to support the national economy through the development of medical tourism, increasing of Jordan's medicine exports, and high professional medical leading position to meet the domestic and external market needs.
