Abstract
This National Strategy for Social Protection is a nationwide sectoral document aiming at translating into practice the government's obligations towards citizens to break the cycle of poverty and prevent its transmission between generations so as to allow everyone to enjoy a decent life, decent work environment and have accessible services. The Strategy is based on the following three pillars (1) opportunity, to guarantee an equitable and fair labor market that focuses on the private sector and depends on the decent working conditions and social security; (2) possibility, providing comprehensive, high-quality basic services in the education, health and social welfare sectors to needy individuals in their families and communities; and (3) dignity, to provide targeted and temporary social assistance to citizens who cannot achieve to enable them to maintain basic economic self-sufficiency.
