Abstract
This Act aims to ensure the effective utilization of resources and to take necessary measures to reduce the generation of used products and by-products and to promote the utilization of recyclable and reusable parts in order to contribute to waste reduction and environmental preservation.
For the purpose of comprehensively and systematically promoting the reduction of generation of used products and by-products the competent minister shall formulate a Basic Policy for Effective Utilization of Resources.
The Act further provides for: responsibilities of business operators and of consumers; promotion of research and development; inspection measures; offences and penalties; etc.
