Abstract
The purpose of the present Act is to secure the profits of producers of specific agricultural, forestry and fishery products and foodstuffs by establishing a system concerning the protection of the names of such products products and foodstuffs based on Annex 1C (Agreement on trade-related aspects of intellectual property rights) of the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization, and thereby to contribute to the development of agricultural, forestry and fishery industries and relevant industries as well as to protect the interests of customers. The text consists of 43 articles divided into 6 chapters as follows: General provisions (I); Protection of the names of specific agricultural, forestry and fishery products and foodstuffs (II); Registration (III); Special Provisions for Specific Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Products and Foodstuffs of Foreign Countries (IV); Miscellaneous provisions (V); Penal provisions (VI).
