Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to ensure the stable development in Japan's ethanol business and a steady and smooth supply of ethanol, thereby contributing to the stable development of the national economy, by ensuring propriety in operations involving the commercial manufacture, importation, and sale of ethanol with due consideration to preventing the wrongful use of ethanol as an ingredient in alcoholic beverages. In light of the fact that ethanol's widespread use in industrial applications makes it indispensable in the lives of the people and in commercial activities, and that it has the same properties as alcoholic beverages. The text consists of 34 articles divided into 5 chapters as follows: General provisions (I); Commercial licensing (II); Transfer of special types of ethanol (III); Miscellaneous provisions (IV); Penal provisions (V).
