Abstract
This Order implements certain provisions of the Food Sanitation Law No. 233 of 1947.
The Order provides for the approval of comprehensive sanitation management and production process for food listed in article 1. Fees and term of validity are included in the text.
In addition, the Order provides for inspection procedures of food, food additives or any container/package and measures to prevent food sanitation hazard. Inspection shall be performed by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, a prefectural governor or a registered conformity assessment body.
The Order further provides for: qualifications of Food Sanitation Inspectors; dairy products, food and food additives that may require an exclusive food sanitation supervisor; registration of Training Institutes for food sanitation supervisors; investigations on food poisoning; etc.
