The petitioner’s sought an order that this application be certified urgent and service thereof be dispensed with in the first instance and that an interim injunction be issued restraining the respondents from enhancing the environmental degradation of Muangini River.

The Court considered that the prayers sought are justified, pending the hearing and determination of the petition, in order to protect the environment. The Court allowed the application.
