Animal Diseases (Birds) Rules.

These Rules regulate certain aspects of the importation of domestic fowl, turkeys, geese, ducks, guinea-fowls, pea-fowls, pigeons, pheasants, parrots and ostriches, and the eggs of such birds (together “birds”).
Birds and eggs for hatching purposes may only be imported if accompanied by a declaration by the breeder regarding the health of the imported items. Birds shall only be imported through prescribed ports and shall be subject to inspection and treatment as specified by these Rules. The importation of birds from Tanzania or Uganda may be allowed subject to such conditions as the Director of Veterinary Services may impose.
