Bungoma County Agricultural Soil Policy

This Agricultural Soil Policy promotes agriculture development through sustainable soil management practices, and thus it proposes a wide range of measures and actions responding to key agricultural soil issues and challenges, in order to transform agriculture into a modern, innovative and commercially oriented sector, improve land productivity, and achieve sustainable soil management practices. Guided by the right to a clean and healthy environment for sustainable development, the Policy focuses on the following measures including: integrated soil fertility management systems, protection of soils and conservation of biodiversity, implementing programmes on afforestation and reforestation, reducing soil erosion, promoting and enhancing climate change mitigation and adaptation measures and strengthening knowledge and skills on sustainable land management.
