Energy (Biofuels) Regulations, Legal Notice no. 199 of 2025

These Regulations, made under provisions of section 208 of the Energy Act, provide for promoting the adoption and use of biofuels by prescribing standards in the biofuels value chain, and apply to the production, importation, exportation, transportation, storage, packaging, blending, distribution and sale of biofuels. The Regulations concern: requirements for a permit for the construction of a biofuel production facility; licensing of biofuels businesses; compliance with Kenya Standards; blending of bioethanol and biodiesel; register of licences; submission of data; compliance measures; inspection; offences; disputes resolution.
