Abstract
This Order declares that the management plan set out in the Schedule to the Order shall be applicable to the Lake Naivasha Ecosystem.
The plan is a community-based initiative and has been developed to ensure that adverse impacts on the lake ecosystem are minimized and corrected while addressing identified conservation issues for which there is a large degree of consensus. The Plan shall be implemented by the Lake Naivasha Management Committee.
Issues that are addressed by the plan include: water use and conservation and management of water resources, protection of plant and animal species, protection of habitats, biodiversity, protection of areas from human interference and the regulation of tourism and recreation.
