Abstract
These Regulations prescribe measures against noise in any factory, premises, places processes and operations to which the provisions of the factories and other Places of work Act apply. Regulation 4 prescribes compulsory noise levels. Where noise exceeds the continuous equivalent a specified level, the occupier of a premises must develop and implement an effective noise control and hearing conservation programme in accordance with regulation 5. Regulation 6 prescribes regular noise measurements to be carried out by an occupier. Other noise prevention and reduction measures are prescribed such as establishment of noise hazard areas, information and training and control of equipment. (20 regulations)
