Fafi Wetland Catchment Protection Order, Legal Notice no. 141 of 2024.

This Order, made in compliance with provisions of section 22 of the Water Act, apply to the National Government, national government entities, county governments, county government entities and any other person being a user of water resources and the riparian reserve of the protected area. The Order provides for declaring the Fafi Wetland Catchment area as a protected area. The attached Management Plan details the protection, conservation and use of the water resources within the protected area, and the actions required to water and land users, including offences in case of misconduct. The Plan concerns: land uses and their potential impact on the water resources; activities that have impacts on water resources: deforestation, water pollution, encroachment, land degradation and clearing, water scarcity.
