Abstract
These Rules implement provisions of the Hide, Skin and Leather Trade Act in relation to, among other things: methods of suspension drying; hanging of hided and skins; qualification of hided and skins; methods of flaying, cleaning and trimming; slaughterman’s licence for flaying hides or skins in a commercial slaughter premises; application for and issue of a buyer’s licence; equipment and maintenance of buyer’s licence premises; purchase of green hide or skin; duty of a buyer and exporter or importer to protect every hide or skin from insect damage in the case of prepared hides and skins immediately after purchase; transporting of dried hide or skin; application of disinfectant or bacteria agent; application for exporter’s or importer’s licence; exporter’s or importer’s premises; duties of exporter or importer; registration certificates and register of licences; inspection of consignment of, skin or leather; marking of hides and skins; data collection. The Rules are completed by 20 Schedules.
