The Kabeere Springs Catchment Protection Area Order, Legal Notice no. 104 of 2023.

This Order, made by the Water resources Authority in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 22 of the Water Act, no. 43 of 2016, provides for declaring the Kabeere Springs Catchment Area as a protected area and therefore apply to the National Government, national government entities, County Governments, county government entities and any other person being a user of water resources and the riparian reserve of the declared protected area. The Order defines: water resources users association registered by the Authority; the boundaries of the protected area; the management and conservation plan developed by the Authority in respect of the protected area; the riparian reserve; soil and water conservation plan; the basin and sub-basin area; offences and penalties. This Order includes a Kabeere Springs Catchment Management and Conservation Plan whose goal is to ensure sustainable management and use of water resources within the protected area while promoting equitable sharing of water resources. The Plan also concerns measures for protection, conservation and rehabilitation of the protected area.
