Abstract
In this Act, the Director of the County Veterinary Services shall appoint qualified inspectors as officers who will carry out the mandate of the Act. The Act provides extensively on how to handle animals infected with diseases and those suspected to be infected with diseases. The Director has the authority to declare an area as an infected area, or make consequential rules for the purposes of preventing the spread of diseases; the Director can also declare an area to be free from diseases.
The Act further provides that the County Government and it�s officials shall not be liable for any acts carried out in good faith in connection with upholding the mandates of this Act. Notwithstanding the above, the Act provides for compensation to be paid to owners of infected animals, provided they had not breached the provisions of this Act.
