Abstract
This Act, divided into eleven Parts, provides for defining a legal and institutional framework for land survey and mapping in accordance with constitutional provisions, and particularly focuses on: promoting efficiency, accountability and transparency land survey process; integrating land survey with land registration; strengthening organised administration of land survey and mapping; ensuring proper land survey governance. Matters covered by this Act include: establishment of the Directorate of Surveys, definition of its functions and powers of the Director; conduct of surveys; survey marks, boundary beacons and boundaries; guiding principles in performing surveys; field notes and topographical features; deed plans and numerical data; public land surveys; preservation of survey marks; inspection of survey works.
