Abstract
This Order, made under section 22 (1) of the Water Act no. 43 of 2016, concerns the use of water resources and the riparian reserve of the mentioned protected area and applies to the National government, National government entities, county governments, county government entities, water resources users association, and any other person being a user of water resources. The Order provides for: declaring the Lake Ol Bolossat catchment area as a protected area; defining a management and conservation Plan for the conservation and use of the water resources; suggesting water and land users targeted actions to protect and conserve water resources within the protected area; specifying offences and penalties in case of misconduct. The attached Management and Conservation Plan defines the location and size of the protected area; information on its water resources; impacts of land uses on the protected area; vulnerability of water resources, including: soil erosion, catchment degradation, pollution of water resources; prohibited activities within the conservation area.
