Nandi County Community Development Act, 2019 (No. 5 of 2019).

This Act establishes the Community Development Scheme to channel the use of public funds at the lowest level of governance where the most vulnerable exist, ensure equity in the distribution of funds in the County, ensure community driven development and local-level participation in the identification, prioritization, implementation and evaluation of development activities at the Ward level and provide for accountability and transparency in the disbursement and use of public resources. The Act makes extensive provisions on the types of project to be submitted and the manner of implementation and administration of the projects. It creates sanctions for misappropriation of of funds and assets from the scheme, misapplication of funds, among others. It establishes a Community Projects Forum.
