Abstract
This Strategy, developed on the basis of the Constitutional principle of water as basic human right and in compliance with Sustainable Development Goals, and covering a five years medium term period, describes the government commitment to address water harvesting and storage related challenges that directly affect water security and subsequent provision of quality water and sanitation services in the country, and to develop techniques for groundwater exploitation and for granting access to safe drinking water to the population. The Strategy identifies key areas for increasing domestic water security, and water security for socio-economic development, for reducing drought, flood and other water related risks and disasters for population and economy. The Strategy also provides for performance indicators and financial measures, implementation and monitoring of the outcomes.
