Nyeri River County Agriculture Development Act, 2017 (No. 5 of 2017).

This Act provides with respect to agricultural activities within the County of Nyeri. "Agriculture" includes, among other things, crop development; livestock development including all domesticated animals and emerging livestock; fisheries; value chain development; agricultural assessment and valuation; farm inputs; soil and water conservation; water harvesting and small-scale irrigation; pest and disease control; conservation and keeping of game animals, game birds, and aquatic animals; game ranching and game cropping; the use of the land for grazing, market gardening, or for nursery grounds; fodder crops; agro-forestry. The overriding objective of this Act is to provide a comprehensive, harmonized, efficient and effective legal and regulatory framework for development and regulation of agriculture in Nyeri County.
The Act establishes the Nyeri County Agriculture Development Board as a body corporate and defines its functions.
