Abstract
This Act makes provision for the administration and procedures relative to the registration of titles in land to which this Act applies, defines the effect of registration of title, defines (special) powers of the principal registrar of titles and a registrar of titles, provides rules relative to the form and effects of transfer of title, lease, charges, power of attorney, caveats and provides for appeal against decisions of the Registrar and some other matters relative to the registration of title.
The Act consists of 86 sections divided into 19 Parts.
The Act shall apply all land which is comprised in any grant issued after the commencement of this Act. This land shall not be capable of being transferred, transmitted, mortgaged, charged or otherwise dealt with except in accordance with the provisions of this Act. As for the administration of the registration of titles, the President of Kenya may divide Kenya into registration districts. The registrar of each registration district shall keep a register of titles. Appeal against decisions of the Registrar may be lodged with the High Court.
