The Samburu County Nomotio Livestock Improvement Center Act, no. 1 of 2022.

This Act, divided into five Parts and consisting of 28 sections, provides for: establishing a livestock improvement centre, defining its membership, powers and functions; training capacity building of farmers in the County; improving livestock breeding and pasture production. According to the definitions of the Act, livestock includes poultry and farmed fish; livestock improvement means improvement of livestock performance in terms of milk and meat production. The Act concerns: establishment of the Nomotio Livestock Improvement Center, specification of its powers and functions, including: fodder production, in order to enhance availability of feed in the County; ensuring that farmers have access to breeding bulls and bucks within the Center; providing farmers with adequate AI services. The Act also focuses on: management board of the Center; conduct of business and affairs of the board; financial provisions; establishment of the Nomotio Livestock Improvement Center Fund, and sources of this fund; offences and penalties.
